What kinds of free music transcription software is available?

I believe transcribe is the word I’m looking for, but correct me if I’m wrong. I have a few pages of sheet music in paper, and I want a way to type it in to the computer. I don’t want to have to scan them in or anything, I just want to be able to type in the notes and save it as a document or something. Is this possible, particularily with free or low-cost software?

I have used Finale for years and love all the things I can do with it. They have a low-cost version called Notepad, I think for around $10. You can always upgrade later to a more full-featured version, but Notepad would probably give you all you’re looking for.

My favorite free one is power tabs.
Although, if you don’t mind spending a little money ($60), I highly recommend guitar pro 6.
I had guitar pro 5 and I loved it, and I just downloaded the trial earlier today, and it’s even better than 5. I think it’s definitely worth the money in the long run.
