How can I make a music video and put it on YouTube without infringing on copyrights?

February 282010

I made a music video to the song Hammers and Strings by Jack’s Mannequin. I put the name of the song and the band in the video, in the title, and also in the description yet it is still blocked. How do I prevent this?

You can’t. The SOUND TRACK belongs to that company. Youtube has a system of detecting the audio from your music video and determining if its a blocked song.

Also, go to account section and there might be options to display ads in your video if the record company was nice.

Without infringing the copyright. You would probably have to get permission from the record company to do that. Either that or buy the rights to the song. But you can still put it up despite the copyright issues. All you have to do is credit the people who made the song. In your video or in the sidebar.
