Heart and Soul (piano) – Sheet Music Version STEREO

September 12009

MP3 of this song can be downloaded at:

http://www.justmyfolder.com/heart.htm

Ever wonder what the sheet music version of this song sounded like? So did I, that’s why I took the time to learn it.

This is the duet version (written for four hands). This is the original version of sheet music as composed by Hoagy Carmichael in the late 1930s (not a modified/arranged/easy version). Note it is rather different then the common version you’ve always heard played in scale C.

As an amateur player, I made every attempt to play this accurately – with no changes to the sheet music on my part. I tried to play all embellishments accurately (accents, crescendos, loudness/softness symbols, etc). In the beginning, I had problems getting the tempo/speed consistent. I finally used a Dr. Beat metronome set to 130bpm to get a consistent tempo on the chord pattern – which should be very accurate. I opted not to play the entire piece twice per the “repeat” symbol near the end.

Obviously, I couldn’t play all four hands at the same time. The chord pattern was recorded into my digital piano’s memory – then the melody was played during the video. The piano is a Yamaha P120.

The sound for this video was recorded directly from the the RCA line output jacks of the piano. Without getting technical, in order to post this with decent stereo sound, a sacrifice in video quality was necessary.

Please do not ask me to send you a copy of the sheet music – it was borrowed and returned to a friend. It is currently available from most of the large on-line sheet music stores, like sheetmusicplus.com (the cover is pictured at the end of the video).

I was not the first to post the sheet music version of Heart & Soul on youtube. That honor goes to a father/son concert video.

Download sheet music from movies, video games, and tv series. Learn to modify the sheet music to transpose the notes to any instrument and print it out. Again if you can get sibelius or finale, it might be better =P.

TWILIGHT Official Bella’s Lullaby Sheet Music ♫ CARTER BURWELL for Piano

August 82009

Bella’s Lullaby from the Movie “Twilight” Piano Sheet music by Carter Burwell, arranged by me. Links for SHEETS: http://img.auctiva.com/imgdata/1/0/6/2/2/0/3/webimg/204019643_o.jpg

I put this down on paper based on what I heard (listening over and over, measure by measure), before any actual official music sheets came out (see date video was created). I spent my time doing this because I wanted to play it on my piano, and there was no other place to get the sheet music at that time, so I had to do it myself.

PLEASE COMMENT and RATE! THANKS!
I also have VIDEO for “Phascination Phase” from the movie.

the updated sheet music which has a little fuller sound (the first version above is a little easier) to my other video (you can click on it in “video responses”) can be found here (2 pages):

If you are having trouble with the left hand high “E” note in the 3rd and 7th measures === It takes practice, but you can play the high e of the left hand with your right hand thumb then continue into the right hand notes you are supposed to be playing for the rest of the measure (it’s playing “e” holding it down then adding g then while still holding the e note, release the g, and play the a.)

The octave higher parts don’t play higher when you listen, since the program I used to make it didn’t include 8va. Also, in Finale Note Pad I used a querty keyboard to input the notes, and therefore the second b in the first measure is played as a natural, as it should be, but the music SHOULD have a natural sign on it, and should not be played by you as a b flat. (Finale input via querty keyboard does not extend the accidental through the measure for same pitch notes at different octaves as music notation normally does). If you are confused by this, just play measure 1 right hand with first B as a flat, second B as a natural, and also any other measures that look just like it. Hope this helps those of you looking for sheet music to this song and I don’t know why it isn’t coming up crystal clear, my video I uploaded is clear—so sorry about that. PLEASE RATE THE VIDEO IF YOU LIKED IT, and leave me a comment! thanks!
